    That was cool. Hope they stick to building a lodge and not a dam, tho. Those suckers can cause some serious flooding when they get to dam building.

    That was cool. Hope they stick to building a lodge and not a dam, tho. Those suckers can cause some serious flooding when they get to dam building.

    There's a creek about a mile from my house that they build on about every year. Drove by the other day and there were 2 trees about 12" in diameter they had gnawed half way through. There was a branch about 3/4" in diameter in that video with 2 little bites that the beaver chomped right through. I wonder how many pounds of biting force they have. It'd take a little muscle to lop that same branch with good pair of loppers.

    My family lived on a [strike]lake[/strike] former gravel pit next to White River for a while, and we used to see the beavers swimming around. There were numerous tree stumps with conical tops around. As the neighborhood got more populated and boat traffic picked up, the beavers went away :(

    Down by Flat Rock, IN there's a small river. Tons of beaver action there. The classic cartoon halfway chewed trees and some that were toppled. Gotta admire the little guys.
