I'm new to the mushroom craze. Is anybody finding these near Westfield, Sheridan, Cicero area? Where is the best place to look on the northside. I walked a creek bank Sunday in a local park and found nothing.

Wife went to deep fry them after 24 hours and they were mushy. Me being a newbie I'm not sure if the ones I picked were of the best quality. They were still good enough to make me want to go out hunting again.

Lucky. I can't seem to find any within 10 miles of home. Have found a lot of pepper tops so far this year though.

I guess the key is to not treat your yard with any chemicals...because I haven't for a good 5 years....looks like crap, but stuff like this seems to grow along side all of the crab grass and dandelion in the yard. lol

Nice work!! Very much appreciated as my wife and I just took an "edible plants" course yesterday and we're starting to get the shroom and natural veggies itch :) Will be referring to this again.
