    I don't care anymore.

Even the "conservatives" seem to make room for this kind of tyranny when it's something they want. I've ceased being surprised about it. Why not stop being upset by it?

Oh, dear God. Did I just set myself apart from the conservatives? Am I really that much closer to being a libertarian? No, no, I won't do it. I won't join the dark side.

Being a libertarian is OK...now if you'd said Libertarian, I'd think you caught a serious disease downtown, out in the cold, today.:D

Isn't a lot of this already being done through building codes and zoning laws? People love ratting out their neighbors who don't live to their standards.

Well I just see my rental properties being condemned along with half of Terre Haute.

wouldn't it be crazy if they totally mindfu**ed us and made it a program where they taught lazy homeowners how to take care of their properties? kinda like the feel good "how to" videos of the 1950's...

Mandatory HOAs on the horizon seems a logical next step

Naw, simple building code/zoning regs are all that is needed. HOAs would have to be regulated by law or it's entirely possible that the members could vote to render it completely impotent. And how do you HOA (yes, I made it a verb) the rural areas? My dad has 40 acres. His neighbor has over 100. How do you divvy up voting proportionment? One vote per acre, per 5, per 10?

I would call it "libertarian-ish". Judging from your posts it doesn't seem like you've drank from the cauldron of Ayn Rand yet. :D
