If you were shot with a single shot Derringer, would you not be assaulted, thus by definition making a single shot Derringer an assault weapon?

I see these bozos are now calling "assault weapons" selective fire weapons. Maybe they've been duped by anti gun lobby propaganda and have gone from thinking "assault rifles" are semi auto to thinking semi auto=full auto? At least they didn't say stupid crap about "full semi auto"

Isn't it wonderful that we have people making laws about something they know nothing about? Actually very sad that they don't do some real research first.

People "reporting" on things they don't know.
And people making law on things they don't understand.
And people asking for those laws, they don't understand.

    The hell is "35-burst fire"?
I've fired much longer strings than that through the M60 and M249. Hell, I fired so many connected belts in long bursts through an M60 once (I think it was 8 connected belts), that the barrel turned nearly white-hot, and I swear you could see the shadow of the cold bullets as dark spots running through the barrel.

    35 round bursts? Amateurs. :D

    FTA:

Oh, look: proposed measures that would have had exactly zero impact on the violent act that the measures are allegedly in response to.
They don't care what impact it would have had on the crime. They're just happy to have a heinous crime on record so they can use it as an excuse to exercise more control over the citizenry.

They want control over everything, so there are no threats to their continued exercise of power. They want to control guns, speech, religion, movement, housing, employment, voting, education, and everything else so they wield the power, and we are subservient to them.

Gun control is not about guns, it's about control. It's the same with all other rights. They don't want to control them because of the issues involved, they just want control, so we will submit to and fit in to the plan they have for US. Not for THEM, but for US.

Hmm... What form of government does that sound like? A Constitutional Republic? Or something more... oppressive?

Some fool of a legislative assistant (who undoubtedly has never held a firearm) drafting the bill probably misheard the description of some of our modern M16-pattern weapons possessing 3-round burst capability instead of/in addition to semi- or full-automatic operation.
They probably intentionally "misheard" the term, "Three to five" round burst. (3-5 round burst)
Someone more likely just omitted the dash because 35 is scarier than 3-5.
Surprised they didn't turn 3 to 5 into 325 round burst.
We didn't have such luxuries when I was in.

Our "Giggle-switch" was all, one, or nothing.

It’s not like getting smart on the subject on which you are writing is a requirement for anything anymore. Hell, ignorance seems to be a badge of honor with the antis.

It should be noted that, the Constitution and Bill of Rights were NEVER intended to suppress We the People, everything contained therein was expressly intended to suppress GOVERNMENT.

Mooresville. Indiana (not North Carolina) is discussing on passing a resolution to become a 2nd Amendment Sanctuary city.
If so, I think this would be a first in the state of Indiana.
