Does the thickness cause a problem with operation or is it not in those areas?

No not at all. In talking with other "self-application" users it seems that using the prevail sprayers can make it go on a bit thick. If reduced properly duracoat is very thin. Using an airbrush it is reduced to flow well through the .03mm nozzle. I shot this entire project with less than 3 oz. of product. My guestimate is that it adds less than 1 oz. to the weapon after drying evaporation and the gassing off of the solvents.
