    wow...i want to move now.
    And just an fyi
    (2) A firearm that has a bore diameter greater than 1 1/2 inches and that uses smokeless powder, not black powder, as a propellant;

    that is a 38 mm rifle. A 50cal is 12.7mm. That is a damn big gun they can make.So they can make 37mm rifles and under by that rule?

    Grenade launchers (oops, pardon... flare launchers :rolleyes:) are 37mm, IIRC. :rockwoot:

    Full of WIN!

    Blessings,
    Bill

    Hell no! Tell Illinois we'll take Chicago off their hands. We take their economy, Springfield Illinois can keep their politicians.

    :laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:
    what economy in chicago. You have to get rid of all the chicago politicians as well before the chicago economy can flourish again. did you know that they recenlty increase the city sales tax yet again. it is now the HIGHEST in the nation! 9.75% I think. that is on top of the state tax of 8%. plus if you want a bottle of water in the city there is a new surcharge as well.

    You don't want chicago trust me..

    49 states to go!

    Now we need to find a state legislator to introduce this bill in Indiana.

    And we need to get obstructionist Pat Bauer out of the House and idiots like Bob Deig and Tom Wyss out of the Senate so the bill can be heard and voted there to send to the governor.

    Blessings,
    Bill

    How can the feds regulate even a firearm transfer in our state if on the transaction receipt it would say something like, "firearm to be retained for use in Indiana" or something like that? Just cause it was made with parts imported from other states? But those parts arent firearms yet!

    The claim they've always used is that even the raw materials, if mined/grown/procured/whatever in one state and used in another constitute "interstate commerce" and therefore fall under federal jurisdiction. Really reaching, IMHO, but unfortunately, they've been doing it so long, it's now precedent... Gonna be awfully difficult to override it. Alternatively, if the Montana thing goes through and is challenged and upheld, there may be a chink in the armor.

    I say we drive a f***in' truck through it. :bat:

    My understanding is that the bill was to be signed today (May 6th) at 12:15.
    Was it signed, has this been addressed by the wolves in congress, has our fearless community organizer/ cammander in chief made a statement on this?
    I have searched the local news in Montana but found nothing.
    This could create a movement among the states that could intemidate. It will be interesting to follow this and see how it plays out.

    Texas lawmaker is looking to do the same!

    Lawmaker aims at making Texas firearms exempt from federal regulation

    A Texas lawmaker wants to further push state sovereignty from the federal government.
    Rep. Leo Berman, a former Arlington mayor pro tem, has filed a bill to make guns, ammunition and gun parts that are made, sold and kept in Texas free from federal regulation.
    That would exempt them from federal gun registration, dealer licensing rules and buyer background checks. State laws would still apply.
    "This does two things," said Berman, a Tyler Republican. "It tests our sovereignty in relationship to the federal government, and it would attract new small gun manufacturers to the state to manufacture certain types of weapons and ammunition that are only used in intrastate commerce."
    Guns and sovereignty are fiery issues in the Lone Star State, where residents resist federal regulations that could trample on either right.

    You'd have to be a resident, wouldn't you?

    That is Montana's economic stimulas plan. How many people will travel to Montana for firearms related purchases? What about gun manufacturers looking for a gun friendly state?
