My letters to Bayh these days remind him that not only am I voting against him, but as he continues to forsake this state I am putting aside money to contribute to anyone including Satan that will run against him. Every time he sends me a BS e-mail claiming to be a moderate or how conservative he is with money I send him another letter. I also like to remind him that I am single and have plenty of time to give to his competition. To put it lightly, we are not friends. The best part is the replies thanking for my input on important legislation. I really wonder if anyone is reading those things.

This is true. I wrote Representative Pence an email how I was disappointed in his vote for harsher sanctions against Iran (a vote that had no discussion by the way and a bill that would not allow us to trade with China) and got an email back about a Resolution he authored that wished good will for Iranians.

I am glad the staffer took the time to read my letter.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I can tell you with absolutely certainty that all members of national and State assemblies have staffers who sort through letters. They just don't have the time to go through each and every letter and to give it the attention it deserves. A draft, canned-spam response is created, proofread by a staffer one level higher-up than you to make sure the wording is good, and then it gets stamped and shipped - or, if he or she isn't too busy that day, maybe actually signed and mailed to you.

Trust me, I did this for two months in Canada, and in the U.S. there are even more staffers. Canada has maybe 1 or 2 staffers per Member of Parliament, the Congress has 10-20 each.

No one is paying any attention except, like you said, those college kids.

Bayh believes in the 2nd Amendment and advised me in an email that he always will.

LUGAR is the one and the OHIO Sen the other one who killed that bill. Both of them Republicans, like me. I couldnt believe it and I wrote Lugar to express my discontent and never got a reply.

Bayh will vote the way Indiana citizens want when he knows his vote won't cause a bill to be passed that the liberal elite doesn't want passed or cause a bill to be defeated that the liberal elite wants passed.
For example, he voted against the latest budget bill AFTER it had enough votes to pass. This way he can claim to vote the way his constituents want without inhibiting the liberal agenda. Anytime the vote is close he is as far left as can be.
Obama promised openness and bi-partisanship. Both were absolute lies; there has been none of either.
