Today while dining with my family I noticed a sign near the ground, left of the main entry door. I've sent this notice to corporate.
(I have a pic but unsure how to insert it)
"To whom it may concern,
Today I brought my family to your restaurant on Day Rd. in Mishawaka, IN. We've dined at Carrabbas many times over the years and spent well over $1000. Carrabbas is one of our favorite restaurants.
Today while entering the restaurant I noticed a sign near the ground, left of the main entry door. The sign states "It is illegal to carry a firearm, deadly weapon, or dangerous ordnance anywhere on these premises".
I wanted to inform your business that in the state of Indiana this sign has no weight and is not enforceable. It's not "illegal" to carry a firearm into your facility. If one has a valid Indiana License to Carry a Handgun it is lawful to carry a firearm onto your property.
Therefore I recommend the Mishawaka, IN establishment remove this sign. I look forward to your reply.
Regards,
JD" (name removed)
Additionally the sign has a picture of a firearm with the red circle and line thru and more text at the bottom of the sign.
"No person shall knowingly possess, have under the person's control, convey, or attempt to convey a deadly weapon or danger ordnance onto these premises."
I've been to this location several times and have never seen this sign. I may talk with the mgr next time we dine in.
JD
To this date I've not received a reply from Carrabbas. I have a picture of the sign in jpg format but am unsure how to attach to this message. I can email it to anyone who wants it.
2nd Update: I've received a voice message from Carrabbas corporate wishing to discuss my email. I'll be contacting these folks next week and reporting back.
