For those of you that carry a handgun, imagine this for a second: You’re at the store, bank, work, on your way home, wherever. And the time you’ve worried about has finally arrived—you actually HAVE to use your firearm to survive. You use it. It’s a traumatic experience, probably even life changing. Afterwards, you reflect on it often, the things you did right, what you wished you would have done better, could you have done something to avoid it completely, etc.

It would be something that would resonate with you for a long time. It would alter how you train in the future. You would share your experience with others you care about because it is something important for them to learn and be prepared for. In short, even if it only happened once in your entire life, it would be an eye-opening experience, right? You would remember it far longer than any range session you ever took, correct? Wouldn’t it have a more lasting impact on your approach to carrying for self-defense than any trip to Point Blank, Beech Grove, or Indy Arms?

Yes it would. That’s what Mindset Lab is. Except it doesn’t just happen once in a lifetime, it happens several times a day. If you’re serious about your preparation and your skills, take a day, let your ego get bruised, and go get some force on force training. It’s imperative. It’s invaluable. And it’s infinitely more practical than a few cases of ammo fired on the range. The mindset discussion alone is worth the time and money.
