"I went down to the demonstration...(Fort Wayne MFOL)" Didn't get any abuse, though. But I did get lectured by aging hippies and students who couldn't even figure out how to dress for the weather. Also got lies (US has the most murders and mass shootings in the world), emotional appeals (Evil NRA owns your politicians, even though they don't make the top 50 contributors) and straw men (like anyone wants schools to be less safe, or anyone wants all teachers to be armed). There was a lot of claptrap about the 2nd protecting hunting (I still have yet to find that there - must be my bad reading comprehension), "spraying bullets," "killer ARs," "military-grade weapons," "only used for killing," etc.

I carried a sign: Strong Emotions + Ignorance = Bad Laws - Cool off, Learn, Think - We love our children, too - Will your plan solve the problem?

Other signs: "Guns don't kill people Umm...Yes they do" Apparently all my guns are hopless slackers - they haven't killed anyone.
The usual NRA Blood Money signs
Many people can't tell an assault rifle from an "assault weapon," and don't really care anyway.

Irony of the day: A teacher advocated not letting 18-21 year olds have guns because their brains aren't fully developed enough to trust them with one. Almost the next sentence: 18 year olds must get registered to vote ASAP and go vote! Apparently voting doesn't require higher brain functions. In Dem country it doesn't even require you be alive.

And, yes, I was armed the whole time.

Thanks for the report. I wanted to go to the Counter Rally, but the Wife already had my agenda filled up for the day.

'I'm sick of being afraid.' Hundreds turn out for March for Our Lives rally in downtown Valparaiso. | Porter County News | nwitimes.com

At the fire station today or I might have gone and laughed at the irony.

You're protected by men with guns to protest the very guns they carry... and you can protest because men with guns fought for your right to do so.

If the adolescent brain isn't fully developed at 18 to carry a rifle in the military then perhaps those kids shouldn't be operating something as complicated as a motor vehicle at 16. My guess is combining a highschooler with a cell phone behind a wheel has killed more teenagers than all the mass shootings combined. Go protest that

I assumed a rally of some sort would take place in The Fort. Any idea how many showed up?

I did see on the news earlier in the day the numbers were way down in other rally's from what many expected.

I've avoided the political section for a long time now. But I've just got to add my two cents. These kids want to change the world for the better, in their eyes. But I've got a suggestion for them. There are nearly two hundred other countries on this planet and I'm sure one of them has their special brand of socialism/communism. They should find that utopia and take their asses there.

    ....or get jobs.

They probably have jobs. I suspect it will come out - later - that they were compensated in some way for attending this spectacle.

No, I just think they need to get laid. Some kids' minds are not prepared to handle the big stuff yet. They might need to stick to the little stuff a while longer.

If these kids would protest the epidemic of drugs and eating detergent pods and smoking things sprayed with bug spray. Instead of protesting their constitutional rights, maybe they'd make more sense. But Bloomberg, Soros and other anti-gun people wouldn't be behind them on that. The scariest thing I saw about the protest was a young girl spewing anti-gun slogans was when she yelled "We vote, and will keep voting". THAT IS VERY SCARY.

    Very well said!

Just like politicians who are telling you that nobody needs guns, while being protected by a large security detail armed with guns that the general public can't even own.

Those morons are standing in a county where "assault weapons" are banned already, and yet still used by terrorists and criminals ... yet they think banning them in another country will stop crime. :ugh:
