I've been using the Sportsman's model for several years and the ground A LOT of deer up with it. You need to cube the meat up good be for use. I usually send the hamburger through it two times. Be for I got a dedicated motor for it the first two years. I would mount it on a table be hind my tablesaw and use a riding lawn mower blade. I know it's hillbilly but worked great.

I use a manual grinder very similar to the sportsman. I am particular of how I prepare my deer meet so everything gets cubed and trimmed prior to going into the grinder. I think the end product is better than just throwing scraps into it and churning out burger. I make a family event out of it. The kids turn as I feed. Hopefully I will be posting pictures of it in action later this week.

Well whether it was a manual or a electric I was going to prepare it into strips or cubes before I ground it up. I am pretty set on an electric

Just remember to chill your meat and any fat you might be adding before grinding. You'll get a better end product if the fat doesn't melt while you're grinding.
