    Just finished this. Wood is cherry, maple ambrosia, walnut and oak.

    I love the look of that maple! Nice job.

    Fun fact. Maple ambrosia isn't a species. It's just regular maple that has been infested by ambrosia beetles. They bore into the wood, bringing a fungus into the tree, which then discolors the wood.

    I think the wood is pretty.

    I think the wood is pretty.

    Kinda like quilted maple, curly birch, buckeye burl aren't species, just effects in the wood. I didn't realize the ambrosia maple was from a beetle, though. I had a suspicion given the little holes, but never looked into it. Good to know!
