With the M1A/M14/M1 platforms make sure to grease the appropriate areas to keep wear down:

    1. Pack bolt roller with grease
    2. Bolt lugs
    3. Op rod channel
    4. Op rod guide, under barrel where op rod slides over
    5. Coat with light film inside of receiver with grease
    6. Hammer hooks, trigger etc.
    7. op rod spring

I am sure I am leaving some things out (forget).

Many great types and brands of grease for the M1/M1A series of rifles.... just remember that those areas are metal to metal contact and require grease, not oil. Thats the important part... other than that oil the same areas as on other rifles.

I also prefer the 18.5" Scout/ Bush rifle to the others, its just the right size, weight and vey accurate too.

I have the Scout Squad and installed a Sadlak scope mount. I chose that one because its in between the full length and the Socom's
