    Go even if you don't have a wad of cash.

    They have ammo, bayonets, barrels, parts kits and the best part is if you get signed up and are good to go they can ship ammo and even firearms to your door, no FFL. A buddy of mine was all about the AR until he shot my Mosin, Mauser, and Enfield. I told him about the CMP and we both went. When they asked for all the documentation, we showed our military ID and they just grinned and said that's the right club to belong to. You can get barreled receivers for $350 and build your gun a little at a time. The guys on the CMP boards say the barrels are in almost new condition. I bought a Garand and went back for a 1903 the day they showed up. (They send e-mails letting you know when new stuff is coming). Surplus 30.06 is still 49 cents/rd. The paperwork is good for three years. I need to go back and recertify because I need a few more Garands. They even have one of the specials in .308:)
