sounds good thxIn a lever overall the most common caliber nation wide is the good old 30-30.
If the chinesse or russian's ever invade the USA the line in the sand most likely will be in the eastern applacian area. The government would be dropping 30-30 rounds to the fighters from planes. Between the marlin 336 and the winchester 94 there is one or two 30-30's in every truck and house in the area.
In indiana you most likely have the 44 mag as the most popular round after the 22 because of the weird deer rilfe laws.
I think everyone should own a 30/30 lever and a 30-06 bolt.
I will inherit one of the above one day... And can't afford to buy/feed the other.
I had the beginnings of a hare-brained idea the other day. For some reason unknown to me, I thought it would be pretty cool to have a .45-70 lever action stainless steel guide gun. I'm not even a guide!

I have a Rossi M92 in .45 Colt, could not be happier with it. With propper handloads, the .45 Colt round is the equal of the .44 Magnum. You just need to make sure that any such loads are restricted to firearms that can handle them; such as this rifle, the Ruger Blackhawk, Old Model Vaquero, and the like.
Here is a photo of my Rossi.
I have been getting the ich to pick up a lever action. I am wanting something bigger than a 22LR but not sure what to go for. What was the most common ammo type before "the great hording of 2013"?
