2 weeks? It is so quiet a Churchmouse could fall asleep or maybe even die.

Hey! What is that awful smell.

CM die? After Nuclear Armageddon, and the Zombie Apocalypse, CM will still be here telling us to behave ourselves.

As long as it's slow zombies I can deal with it. Fast zombies scare me. A Zombie? I'm not a big rum fan :40oz:

I wish I could share some of the crap we deal with behind the big green curtain. It can be most entertaining and at the same time infuriating.

More than a few are escorted off the playground that the membership never see. Non-active members squatting in the classies using Ingo as a store front.
So many petulant children wearing adult meat suits. You all have no idea. When we call them out on this many respond in a positive manner and opt to the site support option. Puts some skin in the game. A few are just Asshats.

There are a couple that if I had my wish would cross my path at some point along this life's path.

I'm going to tread very lightly here. I understand that Tex Kev would like to monetize the site. Everybody that has been here any time at all has heard-- it's a community first. Well, it is, until it isn't.

I have a suspicion that some of the butt-hurt about the classified emanates from the local FFL holders. Most of the gun guys here have had the experience of trading in at a local gun shop. Only to come back later and see your "hard sell" firearm marked up 50% or more. The personal sales allow you to recoup 80% or better of the original price. This has got to bother the gun shops.

The guys here that have a table or two at gun shows that I know aren't raking it in. By the time you pay table fees, food, travel expenses and IF you pay yourself minimum wage. (8 hrs Sat-6 hours Sun ----14 hours straight time. Plus set-up time.) THIS right here is why I have never had a table at any gun show.

Now, i'm gonna quit while I'm ahead.

If it was an option I would buy a few memberships for deserving people. Not going to embarrass anyone, but there are some guys on here that are very knowledgeable in their areas of interests. When I ask them why they don't post more. The answer is always along the lines of appreciation or lack thereof.

I may have to edit this later as I'm being distracted by a new puppy. She is like a toddler with dentures.

Without sticking my nose in too far here...

That's just kinda how the internet works. There are 100x more people that read the threads and appreciate the information than those who will comment and say so or otherwise reveal themselves. Early today I was reading INGO threads from 2010. I certainly wasn't going to necropost in there to say thanks, but I'm glad those guys were chatting and sharing knowledge, humor, etc.

So, consider that some words of encouragement for the guys that feel their contributions are underappreciated. The silent majority really is a thing.

I am not sure what the point of this is. Does this mean selling advertising? If so, why would I object to the boss making money. I am not a millennial and do not expect a free lunch.

I am not aan FFL I am opposed to people using the forum just to flip their yard sale trash.

So, should Tex charge a table fee to flippers?

Now, i'm gonna quit while I'm ahead.

I am not sure I get exactly what you are saying.
I am deeply entrenched in here and have what seems to be endless associations and encounters. I actually had more Pre-Mod. But I still have a cell phone full of Ingo peoples numbers for any and all reasons. This place is exactly what you make of it. Or don't.

In our cleansing of the classies we would as soon those we see now as squatters would become more active in the forum. The site fee is appreciated of course and yes there are some expenses to keeping the lights switched on in here and the other 8 or 9 sites Tex Admin's for. It is his job. Full time all the time. So yes keep that in mind.
Also the soon to be released new operating system. This stuff isn't cheap peoples.
Also know the advertising dollars he rely's on are being sucked up by the corporatized sites. Ones that Ingo were almost suckled up into and turned into swiss cheese. The site would have lost all of its appeal to those who helped make it. There is so much more to this but I will just STFU now and hope you all understand we have a direction. A reason in mind.

I admit I am missing your point as to the FFL holders. I know several. They have zero issue with us save for 1 old fart and he hates the interwebs as it has near killed his walk in traffic.

I think he's saying FFL owners complain about people who pretty much make a living in the classifieds, and then the mods step in to address the FFL complaints. I think this misconception is off base. Obviously, I don't see behind the scenes, but I don't know how many times I've seen a member with multiple posts that I've never seen before. A quick search shows that they've pretty much lived in the classifieds. Those people aren't contributing to the board and should be weeded out.

And that is exactly what we are doing right now. Much angst over this from a few of them. I am now a NAZI Prick Racist that thinks I am a good ass **** SOB. And much much more.

Those are the cats that do not want to cross my life's path.
I have never experienced an FFL holder complaining directly to me but yes I get that.
