I don’t hate bacon, I just don’t “like” bacon. My wife loves bacon, her family puts it on the table for an appetizer. I don’t like really greasy stuff and bacon is usually greasy, same with fried chicken.

Now your really went and did it. Bacon AND Fried Chicken. What next? Cheeseburgers? Ban this man immediately!

I had thought he was an okay guy at one point, but now... you just can't trust a bacon or fried chicken hater.

Thanks to this latest round of proposed bans...I dreamed about bacon last night. Fortunately, the wife was able to fix me a bacon and fresh from the garden tomato sammich as soon as I woke up.

I'm really shocked that anyone would dare to dis bacon on this site.

Maybe I'll have to put him on "ignore" for awhile......

Bacon, I enjoy eating bacon, smelling bacon, using bacon as a flavoring with other foods, and saving the bacon grease to fry eggs!

Some time you should try making it in an oven on a wire rack. It renders the fat a lot more and is a lot less greasy.

That would be ideal! That’s the entire reason I don’t like bacon and fried chicken, every time I’ve had it you can see the grease on it. Like I said, I like bacon on cheeseburgers and stuff, just not by itself.

This post is entirely meant to inflame the entire thread and I thoroughly expect a 24 hour ban....maybe even a week. I just hope it ain't permanent.

In an attempt to save your soul, I will offer that cooking bacon in the microwave between layers of paper towels also keeps it from getting greasy.

You have to use a boatload of towels and man up with the time on the nuker; I'm talking like 7 minutes+.

Done correctly, it's indistinguishable from pan/oven fried.

...I will also put KFC, etc, in the oven on aluminum foil to cook some extra grease out of it. Works well.

In an attempt to save your soul, I will offer that cooking bacon in the microwave between layers of paper towels also keeps it from getting greasy.

Ive had it microwaved... it was better than the pan. I’ve never re-heated kfc tho, don’t really like kfc. Chik-fil-a is my go to for chicken, usually get a grilled chicken sandwich with lettuce n tomato. Good stuff.


I will say, I love filet mignon, the bacon around that soaks in the steak juice and taste delicious. So maybe I like bacon and just never had it cooked a way I like, I dunno? Remember, I was born in late 80s, I don’t cook and the women in my generation don’t cook much either. My wife’s a damn good cook, but some of the simple stuff she destroys lol

I very rarely eat tomatoes, but on a BLT is one of the very few ways that I like them. But they have to be garden grown, not those hothouse pieces of flavorless red slime that they call tomatoes in the grocery store.
