Just got home from knob creek, dang good time! It rained for a good while in the middle of the day but saw a lot of awesome guns, got some good deals, and knocked out a trade while I was there. Good times!
I had a really great time with my friend. He and his wife joined me for dinner Friday and we got a fair start Wednesday.
As we got a perfect parking spot within two - three rows of the entrance it began to pour, and I DO mean pour! I was wet.
For my line of collecting I did not see any really great deals. Some guy wanted $1k for an M95 Rifle from WWI that should have been about $200 - $400. Best deal I saw was a case of Yugo 8mm Mauser for $175 but I didn't get any.
I picked up two (2) books on military rifles, a KCR Hat (too late for the rain), some M1 Carbine Mags, and a bit of 7.62 NATO ammo.
The lower range was completely flooded out so nothing there.
While waiting on folks from INGO above the subgun range we met a gentleman from Scotland and were talking about the difference between the countries. Nice fellow. He seemed very impressed with what we could do here.
I forgot my INGO nametag and kept asking folks, when I knew they were from Indiana, if they were members, but none were...
We went to Dennys after the dark shoot, but not the last one, and didn't see anyone there. I don't have the best luck organizing things out of State.
If you have never been do go! It is something to see with all the firepower going downrange.
Now I have to start saving for the fall trip to Tulsa!
I was there Saturday afternoon and evening. If I had seen this thread, I would have met up with y'all. Had a great time there. I shot the "Tommy" on the lower range. I will be back for the fall shoot.
Darnit, missed this thread too. I was there Sat. from 12 till 6, I wore my INGO t-shrt. Man oh man did it **** and pour late morning, finally letting up just as we got there. Even hail!! Lower parking field was fun, saw a quite a few vehicles getting stuck in the mire and the lil' mulies and 4 wheelers pulling them out. Bought the required T-shirt. 1500 rounds of 7.62x39.
Below is a HHR that was parked in the lower field, looks like it got a pretty good spraying!!
I ended up going last minute. We got there about 10am and stayed until 9pm, it was a really long day. It was my first time and I had a blast. I plan on going in the fall but with more money so I can shoot some guns and get a huey ride!
Wished I could have made this one, but having just started a new job, it just wasn't in the cards. After seeing the pic of the HHR, I remember why I NEVER park in the lower lot. I will be there the fall shoot, tho!
