What is your carry gun? Just curious!
I've carried at IUN (gary indiana)

Yeah I don't think it is too legal to carry at school since it is state owned. But if you're willing to take the risk then by all means. Do you have a license to carry at all? I personally think if you have a license you should be able to at school, not much different than the mall as far as i'm concerned.
Anyways, I was just at books-a-million (there's one on the northwest sdie) and on the magazine rack there is a 2008 buyers guide. If you don't want a kel-tec, there are more options in there...
have you looked at going with a revolver, under 2 inch barrel and a .38, very potent combination?
So I'll have an ak pistol in my center console.
Are you driving a big truck or something. That must be quite a console.
Even if its not against Indiana law (which i still think it is), is it worth getting expelled and not receiving credit for your classes?
Off the record, we never really cared if you carried. However, if you were "caught" then we would have to follow dept guidelines to make sure your pistol is secure.
Re: recommending Kahrs over Kel-Tecs ... I've never fired a Kel-Tec, but I have fired a Kahr P9. I couldn't get good hits with it, regardless of how I tried to manipulate the trigger.
As a former IUPUI PD officer I have a little knowledge on how it works at that IU campus. If a student is caught carrying on campus (with a valid permit) we would escort them to our firearm locker area of the PD and have them lock it up. They take the key with them so they can retrieve their pistol when they are done for the day. We discouraged them from leaving their pistols in their vehicles due to break-ins. There is no law against it and I've never seen anyone get expelled for doing it. Off the record, we never really cared if you carried. However, if you were "caught" then we would have to follow dept guidelines to make sure your pistol is secure. We had many students who would arrive on campus and lock up their pistol at the PD and retrieve it when they were done.
