I purchased it about a month ago why?Hold old is your S?
Supposedly Canik has redesigned the S to remedy the mag over insertion issue. Sounds like you have one of the modified ones. Hope it continues to provide you good service. I have a standard Rival that I love to shoot. Best stock polymer trigger I've ever tried.I purchased it about a month ago why?
I think mine is part of a new batch as I looked for one for months and recently they showed it at distributors, most every retailer is now sold out.Supposedly Canik has redesigned the S to remedy the mag over insertion issue. Make sure you get it out early to put it through its paces.
I had some major failure to feed issues, with the rounds constantly getting stuck on the feed ramp.
That’s ok, I bought a Glock 34 instead. I decided I wanted to give the GSSF a try to start shooting competitively. Then I will try something else.Polymer Rivals aren't hard to find.
I got a Rival sfx s last year local gun shop just happened to have one. Was going great for the first few matches. Then found it would not chamber polymer bullets, then it started light hammer strikes, just once in awhile at first then it got to where I couldn’t shoot a match without multiple light strikes. Eventually it would not even shoot 10 rounds without failure. I tried everything with no luck, just sent it back for warranty. Hopefully they can get it back working as it is a nice soft shooter.
How has yours been doing so far? How many rounds through it?
I have a lot more rds probably 1500 or so, hopefully it’s just mine. Talking to others in uspsa it seems there are a few issues but usually fixable without sending it back. As for not chambering polymer coated bullets I read some gun shop will ream the barrel for about 40.00 I think I’ll stick to jacketed. ThanksMine hasn't missed a bit, 0 malfunctions in about 400 rounds. I'm sorry about your troubles with yours, I hope they make it right for you.

I've got about 2k rounds through my Rival S and its been flawless with Blazer Brass. I just bought a case of Blazer Aluminum and had one failure to extract in 100 rounds. All I shoot is 115g. I'm hoping that the aluminum rounds end up working better than that preview.Hope Canik sorted out the mag overtravel problem with the S. Love my plastic Rival.
Got my rival s back from Canik today, they changed the trigger control group, barrel, recoil spring, and magazine base(?). Shot 20 rds of magtech ammo and called it good I guess. Well I had a light strike on my ammo within 5 rds……..I've got about 2k rounds through my Rival S and its been flawless with Blazer Brass. With regard to the mag overinsertion issue, its simple to fix by putting a #18 Danco Oring around the mag to keep it from overinserting. I just bought another set of 18 rd mags that had plastic base pads and they don't overinsert, but my mags with aluminum base pads will overinsert and require the Oring.
