It has begun!

This is the start of my 1st build!

Started off with: CMMG stripped lower, Spikes lower parts kit less trigger group, Spikes enhanced trigger guard, CMC Trigger, Command Arms interchangeable grip. Was given a Colt magazine.

After... Trying to locate an A2 buffer tube so I can finish it off with a PRS stock. With a little help from AR15.com and youtube, okay a ton of guidance by way of a walk-through, It was a smooth process with NO LOST PARTS or scratches!

Instead of using a "wood block" for the trigger guard roll pin, I found it fitting to use this. My grandfather made it for me when I was a kid, he was a vet, and master tinkerer. I thought it to be appropriate to use the bottom of the tool box he made me for my first rifle build!

Granted I haven't shot it, but really like the versatility in grip options. As it sits I've got it really comfortable (for me) after trying/swapping inserts. Will reevaluate once build is complete and shooting...

lol, I already have my next two in mind. A carbine, followed by a .308. Unless my wife wants her own in the mean time!

Haha why wait until it's done? I'm already looking into a pistol build and my lower build kit for my rifle hasn't even shipped yet!

And it's done!

In addition to stated above, Spikes upper and BCG, DPMS 1x9 cromoly barrel, low profile gas block, MI Handguard, Magpul ACS-L stock, angled foregrip, GEN 2 MBUS, and an EOTech 512 to top it off. Pic not the greatest, but it's nasty out and couldn't wait to take a proper picture...lol

can anyone offer any comments on the trigger group, I have never seen or heard of one and looks interesting. Feel. pull lbs, length of pull..

Oh no, you've been infected by the "If I build it I must shoot it bug".

It is not fatal, but much like other infections it can be expensive.
