I don't know about you, but I would be pretty pissed off if I got teargassed for going to the bank the day after somebody else robbed it.
Since you refuse to distinguish between different crowds on different dates, I'm done pounding my head against a wall.
See you all in some other thread.
Peaceful Protestors
The non-violent tactics of peaceful protesters served two familiar aims and one unusual one:
They created a spectacle of legitimacy, which was intensified as police violence escalated.
They created a front line that blocked police attempts to advance when they deployed outside of the Precinct.
In addition, in an unexpected turn of affairs, the peaceful protestors shielded those who employed projectiles.
Whenever the police threatened tear gas or rubber bullets, non-violent protesters lined up at the front with their hands up in the air, chanting “Hands up, don’t shoot!” Sometimes they kneeled, but typically only during relative lulls in the action. When the cops deployed outside the Precincts, their police lines frequently found themselves facing a line of “non-violent” protestors. This had the effect of temporarily stabilizing the space of conflict and gave other crowd members a stationary target.

I think I've identified the problem.

Yeah. I get that. It may have been mayhem on one day, and then peaceful the next. And I get that it's not helping the image of police any to tear gas the crowd if they were peaceful. But I think the point made was that the crowd was peaceful until they weren't on the days there was mayhem. I'm guessing that if it was anything like what happened in Louisville, it was peaceful, then mayhem.
I too saw the "after action report" posted on the crimethinc.com website. It was disturbing to say the least. What this anarchist was laying out was the strategy the overthrow the America we know an replace it with a socialist society. Many of the tactics the author was presenting was straight out of the 1960's SDS's play book. For those of you to young to remember the SDS were the far left campus socialists of the era and they taught the same type of tactics to the mob in 1968 that we are seeing now. Put a peaceful face on the protest up front for the camera while the fighters used the peaceful faces for cover. Also encouraging the spread of the violence to outside areas via arson and looting to the draw the police away from the front line and by all means keep the pressure up on the thin blue line. God help us and God help this county.
I wish I could be that confident. I would have assumed you were right before CHAZ was eagerly offered up by the mayor and probably with the governor’s blessing. It has to get turned around before a lot more people are indoctrinated. And we’re effectively losing free speech at the hands of social media companies because the public square has moved online. That’s where people are radicalized without hearing the voices of reason.Yes, but the SDS now occupies, thanks to the voters, many of the city halls and statehouses, making the job that much easier. I don't think they're going to get their shiny socialist society at the end of the day, though.

I just think we’re nearing a very dangerous time where it could be too late to save a mostly free society.
Denny asked in another thread (basically) Where is the silent majority? Why aren’t they speaking out? We should have known compromise is the one thing the leftists never wanted. They never did. Attempting to placate those that wish to destroy you has never worked.

One of the current phrases of pop culture that bugs me is "starting the conversation". From everything I've seen on social media it means parrot what I say and don't dare disagree or you will be shouted down by the crowd.
I think that's why so many are silent. The one place you can speak your mind and not be ridiculed is at the ballot box.
