Sorry if this has been answered somewhere, but I couldn't find anything searching this site, google, or the IC.

Federal law prohibits shipping across state lines from non-ffl to non-ffl, but does not have any restrictions on shipping within a state. UPS and FedEx will ship to/from anyone as long as both parties are in compliance with all state and federal regulations and it is sent overnight. However I cannot find anything in the IC prohibiting someone in Indiana from shipping a gun to someone in Indiana without going through an FFL.

Can anyone point me to a place in the IC or federal law where it would prohibit a non-ffl in Indiana from shipping to another non-ffl in Indiana?

No, both handguns and long guns. USPS has restrictions on non-licencees shipping handguns, but commom carriers allow it.

Thats what I thought... Federal law doesn't cover anything except what USPS ships and interstate shipping.

I emailed the ISP to see if they knew of anything in the IC that would prohibit it. I sure couldn't find anything searching it myself.

Nate has it. My local dealer just rolls his eyes when an Indiana resident ships a firearm to his shop to register it to an Indiana resident. Just another $25.00 in the bank.

Q: May a nonlicensee ship a firearm by common or contract carrier? A nonlicensee may ship a firearm by a common or contract carrier to a resident of his or her own State or to a licensee in any State. A common or contract carrier must be used to ship a handgun. In addition, Federal law requires that the carrier be notified that the shipment contains a firearm and prohibits common or contract carriers from requiring or causing any label to be placed on any package indicating that it contains a firearm.
