There's a guy on militaryphotos.net who was at the scene and posted updates in near-real time "a stray bullet just hit my office window, now security is telling us to GTFO" According to him, the riot-control guys were part of the internal security service. They were supposed to be one of the most feared and well-funded agencies in the region (thus the duded-up AKs and Western-style gear), but didn't have the (heart/nerve/stones) to fire on their own countrymen. So they fled, leaving behind vans full of equipment. About 2000 rioters then stormed their headquarters and took about 100 guns, including AK-74s, Krinks, Dragunovs, PKM machine guns and RPGs.

Hum, I think thats how it would go down here too.

    SAV, ELP, DFW, SBN,
Geopolitically it kind of sucks. Kyrgyzstan offers the US one of the last central Asian air bases. Apparently Russia is advising the opposition heavily, to kick out the US air base as a concession for all the "aid" and good will shared.

In the picture of the police with the Krinks, notice how only the guys in front have a rifle and the others are just following. It reminds me of the scene from the movie "Enemy at the Gate', where one soldier is issued a rifle and ammo and the second is issued only ammo and told to follow the first guy.

Did anyone else see the guy being carried out to an ambulance? Did he look decapitated to anyone else?

No, but he did just realize that he forgot to turn the oven off. D'OH!!
