We, the people were the losers this year when the voters would not give Ron Paul the necessary votes to get him elected. Now we are stuck to voting for the lesser of two evils or voting 3rd party. My fears are that 3rd party votes may allow Obama to be elected. I don't know how I am going to vote yet but McAminesty"s choice for VP will be important. A good conservative VP would swing my vote.

This is going to get me flamed to no end; but I think it’s still best to be honest....

How I wish Ron Paul had made the Republican ticket.

Honestly I hate a LOT about both candidates. However, at the moment, I hate Obama less than McAminesty.

And that's hard, I a sure you, especially with the potential threat of who Obama may have the luxury of putting into the Sup. Court.

But McCain is like another Bush, and I think he will finish off our economy. If I'm so busy walking the streets trying to find a job so I can eat, I won't care about what guns I can or can not buy since I won't have any money.

So do I risk the potential dampening of my gun rights for an administration or do I risk both my and my family's financial future for the better half of our lives?

On that note, I do reserve my sovereign right to change, re-change, and completely flip-flop my decision until my little voting card drops into the box on Election Day.

So you think that Obama will stimulate this economy with TAXES? His ideas do more to take money out of your hands then they do to let you keep more of your own money and decide how YOU want to spend it.

See he thinks we are too stupid to spend it for any benefit so he will take it from you and waste it through government programs you most likely wont qualify for. Our economy has slowed down but not yet entered recession due to many factors. One of the largest is Energy prices. The Dems want to do nothing to help that out. They want you to conserve and buy into the alternative scam.

Another cost issue is food. Why have food prices risen? Well someone in our government thought it would be smart to burn food for fuel. That caused people who use to grow all kinds of other crops to switch to corn thus having less supply the cost went up.

I could go on and on but I'll leave some for the others :)

So...im assuming you put Obama... im not going to flame you, but i want an answer for this question.

How will Obama turn around the economy and how will McCain not? Also, how did Bush destroy the economy?

Obama wants to raise taxes of the top 1%, who already pay 50% of income tax. Sounds great to people who make less than $250,000 a year, right? But the problem is, besides it being wealth redistrabution, when you tax the 1% more, they are the ones who have business's that the middle class works for. Also under Obama's tax plan, they will be taxing the 1% $0.50 of every $1.00 they make....wtf is that.

Also it has been proven when you raise taxes on the top 1%, the government brings in less money. So then they have to raise taxes on the middle class which is most of us.

The only answer is a fair tax. Everybody needs to pay the same tax. Otherwise it is wealth redistrabution, which imo is unamerican.

Basically, the economy should NOT effect your choice for president. For one, they dont have much control over it. Also really, THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD NOT EVEN BE IN THE ECONOMY ANYWAYS.

Two Obama votes actually but what shocks me are the folks that would vote 3rd party to send a message that will result in a certain Obama victory and give the gun grabbing Democrats control of the Congress and the Presidency :rolleyesedit:

Are you sure it wasn't the Media, and an overabundance of below average IQ "Republican" voters that put him there?

What do you know about Obama really? That he is a good speaker? That the media want him in office? (and will ignore McCain and others and push for "their" candidate)

What does anyone really know about Obama? He hasn't told us much, if anything. We know that he likes to play the race card (if you don't vote for me, it's because you are a racist) [and of course in order to PROVE that you aren't racist, you feel compelled to vote for Obama] And by playing that card, we are "distracted" from the issues - or lack of.

For example, I WILL NOT vote for Obama! Not because of race, but because he is a "Chicago Politician" and IMO is just as corrupt as Mayor Daily, Gov. Blago, and the govs pop-in-law, Mell (all white by the way)
Check out Obama's votes while in office - when he chose to vote (he abstained quite a bit when he, or his handlers, felt that a particular vote might harm his chances to become president)
He DID vote FOR many, if not most, anti-gun laws.
He has, with his "clinging to religion and guns....." speech show that he thinks that WE THE PEOPLE are beneith him - he looks down his nose at us. Only HE knows "what is best for the little people"

Do you REALLY think that Obama cares about the citizens (so far, not servants) of the United States of America?
Check out his books. Check out his wife's college papers (which, I understand are being blocked until after the election.) But his books (at least those parts that were exposed by the media) speak volumes about how he feels about race and "what is owed "his people".

Make an informed decision. Don't vote for Obama just because you don't like McCain. (Or because the candidate you really want isn't available)

There is an old expression: "Don't bite your nose off to spite your face". And another: "It can come back to bite you in the a&&"

Are you sure it wasn't the Media, and an overabundance of below average IQ "Republican" voters that put him there?
Or possibly the donkeys doing to the GOP what Limbaugh suggested conservatives do to them? I forget what the "operation" was called, but the idea was that all the conservatives vote in the DNC's primary and vote for Hillary. I think many of the jackasses did that, but I think that the real reason we have McCain running as the GOP nominee is old Joe Stalin's famous quote:

It doesn't matter who casts the votes, only who counts them.

Conspiracy theories? Perhaps, but Ann Coulter was once quoted as saying:
"...One hundred percent of the successful terrorist attacks on commercial airlines for 20 years have been committed by Arabs. When there is a 100 percent chance of being hijacked by an Arab Muslim Extremist, it ceases to be a profile. It's called a 'description of the suspect...."

Similarly, when so many people put up Ron Paul signs and so many people donated to his campaign in such large quantities and yet he didn't win a single state's primary and barely got mentioned on the news at all, what are we to think? When even our media screams for voting machines with a paper trail to verify that the votes cast are the same as the votes recorded and yet we still don't see them being made, what are we to think? Why is it that our cash registers create duplicate receipts and our voting machines create none?
Why do we have laws that allow the searching of American's homes without warrants but we can't have a programmer examine the code in our voting machines due to "proprietary secrets"?

I don't think we need to worry about our country being hijacked. I think we need to worry about how we're going to get it back before it's crashed into a building by the pilots we've put in the cockpit.

I'm done with compromise votes. When faced with an impossible decision, do a write in.

She's got my vote this November.

If we're going to watch our country go down the crapper, we might as well have a hot dingbat at the helm. Who knows, maybe we'll get a couple sex scandals with video to entertain us while spiral to 3rd world country status.

    Dude...

If you want a hot dingbat, you may as well cast your vote for Paris Hilton. Her politics suck, though, which is why she qualifies as a "dingbat". You also mentioned "hot", though, which tells me you're considering voting for a woman for the Oval Office, and that got me thinking: (no, there's nothing burning)

I'm thinking if I want a President who happens to be a woman, I want one of our fine ladies from INGO! It has not a damn thing to do with the fact that they are women and everything to do with the fact that all the ones with whom I've had the pleasure of conversing "get it".

I would strongly recommend, however, that if we elect Annie, the monkey definitely needs to be trained to stay AWAY from the Big Red Button. If we can't trust the monkey with a gun, we certainly cannot trust her with thermonuclear warheads.

And with that said, I think I shall take this opportunity to grin, duck, and RUN! (in a serpentine fashion)

I will never understand the following no matter how long I live;:dunno:

    1. Any person that is willing to throw away a vote, knowing others have given their lives to protect your right to cast that vote. (inexcusable)

    2. How any intelligent adult would vote for someone who openly states he is going to rob the rich and give to the poor. (Socialism)

    3. Tolerate a person running for President of United States who constantly has nothing good to say about his own nation, when at home or in Europe. (Treason, we are at war)

    4. What would motivate any voter to support a candidate that says going in, he is going to raise taxes on YOU! (turn the other check, nope, bend over and spread both cheeks)

    5. Even for a second consider putting a person in charge of the most powerful country on earth, that has never even been in charge of ANYTHING.
(no experience, no experience, no experience)

    6. Vote for any candidate, of any race, that openly supports paying reparations to African Americans. (`<-*#*+@~+)

    7. Did not have the time to visit wounded soldiers in Germany, but had the time to go for a workout! (ungreatful ba$tard)

I am voting for John McCain, at least he has served our country and I sincerely believe he loves and respect this nation and those that serve it, Misguided as he is on some issues, he still gets my vote.

    +1 GREAT POST!

Got this in an email today,

From Richmond Times-Dispatch, Monday, July 7, 2008 Dear Editor,
    Times-Dispatch:
Each year I get to celebrate Independence Day twice. On June 30 I celebrate my independence day, and on July 4 I celebrate America 's.

This year is special, because it marks the 40th anniversary of my independence.
On June 30, 1968, I escaped Communist Cuba, and a few months later, I was in the United States to stay.

I've thought a lot about the anniversary this year. The
election-year rhetoric has made me think a lot about Cuba and what transpired there. In the late 1950's, most Cubans thought Cuba needed a change, so when a young leader came along, every Cuban was at least receptive.

When the young leader spoke eloquently and passionately and denounced the old system, the press fell in love with him. They never questioned who his friends were or what he really believed in. When he said he would help the farmers and the poor and bring free medical care and education to all, everyone followed. When he said he would bring justice and equality to all, everyone said, 'Praise the Lord.' And when the young leader said, 'I will be for change and I'll bring you change,' everyone yelled, 'Viva Fidel!'

But nobody asked about the change, so by the time the executioner's guns went silent, the people's guns had been taken away. By the time everyone was equal, they were equally poor, hungry, and oppressed. By the time everyone received their free education, it was worth nothing.

By the time the press noticed, it was too late, because they were now working for him. By the time the change was finally implemented, Cuba had been knocked down a couple of notches to Third-World status.

By the time the change was over, more than a million people had taken to boats, rafts, and inner tubes. You can call those who made it ashore anywhere else in the world the most fortunate Cubans. And now I'm back to the beginning of my story.

Luckily, we in America would never fall for a young leader who promises change without asking, what change? How will you carry it out? What will it cost America ?
    Would we?

    Manuel Alvarez, Jr.

Would everyone please rep these two posters, please? Big :+1:

I regret only that I can only do so once each.

    Thank you both.:patriot:

Here is what I don't understand, How fascism is preferable to socialism.

You are trading a socialist (obama) for a fascist (mcAmnesty). Sorry, I don't care for THAT form of patriotism.

"Beware the leader who bangs the drums of war in order to whip the citizenry into a patriotic fervor, for patriotism is indeed a double-edged sword. It both emboldens the blood, just as it narrows the mind. And when the drums of war have reached a fever pitch and the blood boils with hate and the mind has closed, the leader will have no need in seizing the rights of the citizenry. Rather, the citizenry, infused with fear and blinded by patriotism, will offer up all of their rights unto the leader and gladly so. How do I know? For this is what I have done. And I am Caesar."
