Directions to the Wilbur Wright Range

OK, here are the details to the Wilbur Wright range near New Castle...
If driving to New Castle from I-70 take SR 3 north to SR 38 (which is Broad St.) turn right onto Broad St (headed East) and drive past the courthouse and across several RR tracks. Take the first street on your left past the RR tracks which is 16th (and SR 103). Drive north out of town on SR 103 about 3 miles. It's on the right (east) side of the road across from the Ranger's house back in the trees. See attached map

Been to Wilber Wright many times. Free is nice.

So anyone set a date yet? I am planning on going Sunday April 20. :do2:

Last time out at New Castle the RO let us shoot balloons tied down with twine that we brought, as long as we picked up all of the plastic bits. Something to keep in mind if you want a slightly more reactive target than Shoot-N-Cs. It's a damn shame that there isn't a Knob Creek "anything goes" style range within a decent distance of Indianapolis...I'd be buying a case of tannerite every week.

Various types of cookies and crackers make great reactive targets, especially for .22s. Vanilla wafers are good as are Necco Wafers.

I haven't actually tried them, but I've read that ketchup and mustard packets are interesting also.
