    I'm going to have to re up my permit soon. Are wait times for receiving it any longer now?

    That depends.
    Have you any "record". If so, you will be delayed, but not necessarily denied.
    It will take much longer if you snail-mail your application than it will if you go the L1 route.
    If you apply for a "permit" in Indiana, you're going to be disappointed.

    I've called it a permit for 30 years. My concern was delays because of recent past interest in new LTCH's. I'm retired, I go to the police station.

    I already answered your question.
    Yes, the In Indiana I.D. will serve as an acceptable alternative to the drivers license. It was introduced to provide valid I.D. to those who, for whatever reason, cannot or will not obtain a drivers license.
