If we are paralyzed with traffic for hours on end, I could see people supporting it. Our "rush hour" is a mere pimple compared to the real metropolises.

Has anyone pushing for this ever ridden with the masses? Have they been through the Greyhound terminal, downtown?

    Of course not.

Those pushing for this want it for shiftless cousins or to brag in Broad Ripple bistros about how progressive they are.

They always want mass transit for The Others, never for them, just like gun control.

    :+1:

Has anyone pushing for this ever ridden with the masses? Have they been through the Greyhound terminal, downtown? Take away their hand sanitizer and send 'em to clean the urinals and stalls without gloves or a brush. The public is the nastiest thing on the face of the planet.
Well since here in Indianapolis we have plenty of roads, cars are cheap, parking plentiful, and insurance cheaper. So, the only ones taking the bus are those who cannot afford even a cheap car or those not capable of driving. As a result, our mas transit has gotten a low reputation (deserved or not). In Chicago, LA, or NYC where there is nearly gridlock for most of the daylight hours and insurance premiums put it out of reach for many and parking is equally as expensive, mass transit is seen as a necessity where everyday people are using. A car is considered a luxury. The politicians what us to be seen is the same league as big boy cities, we are not. When we solve every other problem this city faces THEN we can revisit this debate.
