A lady at work told me she got one for her husband with a camera on it! The first thing I thought of was using it to check out targets from a distance. That would be more fun than a scope, I think.

One of mine is a Parrot AR Drone quadracopter, and yes, I have used it that way. it has a 720p video camera built-in, flies very well outside, and if left to itself will settle into a pretty stable hover.

I bought some air hogs a couple years ago on blackfriday when target had them for $10 My nephews got 2 of them and I kept one for myself. I still have fun flying it today. It runs for about 7min then needs recharged for about 30min or so. it has 2 missles that it can fire. My son loves to shoot the missles usualy at the dogs or the Mrs. LOL I have been thinking of getting something a little better but just cant justif the money when this one still flys fine.

Started with A $30 flea market cheap one. It was super easy to fly and a ton of fun until the tail broke making it un-flyable. I thought I was ready to advance to the next level and bought a $100 Blade but found that it was so finicky and hard to control that it crashed and burned before I ever got it trimmed right. If I ever get another one, I'll stick with the cheaper indoor easy-to-fly helos.

I first bought an airhog and loved it. I then upgraded to a Venom... I got pretty good with it.... or so I thought. It however met it's demise.. it ate the globe on the ceiling fan on an over confident set of maneuvers. By ate.. I mean the 3/8 thick globe shattered and flew all over the living room and the stabilizer broke on the main shaft of the heli ... which threw it way out of balance and it then went into the fan blades of the ceiling fan.

Yeah I know... who flies a helicopter indoors with a ceiling fan turned on. I do lol.. it adds a high degree of difficulty once you get pretty good with it. Isn't that what we all do? Fiddle around with something until it is broke and then go buy another?

Picked up a Syma 107 off Amazon, and have been amazed at the manuverabilty. A true forward/backward and turning helo. Hovers great, and even though the battery life sucks, it's a great helo for under $30. Lots of mods and parts for them as well.

Id highly suggest spending slightly more and buying a hobby grade, for parts support along its worth it. Blade has a scout thats like $45-50 and you local hobby shop, has or can get parts for it.

Took the Chinook into the shop this morning and had fun buzzing around the counters with my co-worker flying escort with his Apache. Before business hours, of course! :)

Operation Fly Up And Down The Stairs was a success at home this evening, but pinpoint landings are still problematic; I'm starting to get some nicks and dings in the rotor blades from close encounters with walls, lamps, and other objects. Time to order a parts kit, I guess!

I haven't flown the blade mcpx, but I've seen it fly and it is very impressive. Good for both outdoors (light/no wind) and indoors. It's a flybarless system, and is 3d capable. Quite impressive for such a small helo. I also heard it can take a beating.

I have trex's for outside, but I fly the Syma 107 indoors, which is a blast for $25

I was thinking of getting one of these little indoor choppers and this thread got me interested again. I was about to order a Syma 107 or the Chinook from Amazon, but found them at rural king for $30. Also saw them at circle k gas station.

It's been a blast so far. Battery life sucks, ten minutes at best but it only takes 45 mins or so to charge back up. For the most part it's easy to control, I've been practicing taking off and landing from the living room ottoman. I wanted one of these when I was six, I'm 31 now and finally made it happen.

I've got a little 30 dollar one I bought at Hobbytown in Castleton. It's fun but I'm ready to move up to something larger.

I flew 1/5 scale model airplanes for several years when I was younger. Haven't got back into it for over 10 years.

Thanks, Shooter521, for starting this thread. I've been wanting to buy a toy chopper for years, and ordered a Syma Chinook after seeing this discussion. I've had a ton of fun for the last week flying it.
I learned to check the tiny screws that attach the blades, after one came off after a crash.

Really? I've beaten the **** out of my Chinook, and although the leading edges of some of the rotor blades are getting a little chewed up, I have yet to lose or break anything (knocks wood). I did just get some replacement parts (just in case) along with my new Syma AH-1 Cobra from Hottest 2.4GHz RC Helicopters 100% RTF for Beginners to Professional Helicopter Pilots Mini Micro Helicopter Syma Double Horse (Esky, T-Rex, Exceed RC, Walkera)
