I guess it is another case of murder with a gun in a gun free zone. They just don't get it, or else they do and don't care. I think they need to arm every citizen in Chicago and see if the gun violence drops or increases. It would cease to even exist more than likely. Our prayers are with the family. Protected us from foreign terrorists just to come home and get killed by a domestic one!!

They need to allow their public to carry. That will solve a lot (not all) of Chicago's issues. Without the ability to properly defend themselves, what's going to deter the criminals?

Just to let everyone know East Chicago is in Lake County Indiana, not Illinois. He was in the same unit as my friend's dad and he is taking it really hard.

The public most definitely carries in EC, but I would say most of it is all illegally. I drive through this area at all times of the day and it is not one of those places you ever feel comfortable even if its broad daylight and seems safe. The gang presence is heavy in the harbor.

I agree with you, even though I grew up in the Harbor I still do not like going there at night.
