Ill have to say stick with the 44...Great round and quite comfortable to shoot.

My 9 year old shoots the YM Handi in .44 for Deer, very manageable round.

Is .460 S&W or .454 Casull an option? Because I'd rather have those as choices over either of the calibers you mentined.

I think a .500 S&W rifle would be awesome.

I'm another one of the .357 Max guys. I bought a second hand Handi from another user here and then rented the reamer from another forum for $20 and reamed it myself. Took all of about a half hour to do by myself and was super easy to do.
