The utility I see in 50 post rule seems to be less about joining a community and more about having an idea about what kind of person Im doing business with.

Yes, we like to get to know those that frequent this place. So I would say there is a bit of truth it that statement. Most that hang around really like the fellowship. And stay, those here for the ads section don't help the sight with content. This sight is content driven. Not Gunbroker.

I think you missed part of the message. The "search" feature mainly. People always complain on forums about people not using it enough. They're right. Just a little bit ago I was reading about people's thoughts and experiences with 6.8 spc. I didn't need to start a thread asking for them, they're right there for me to find and read.
Of course I'm going to browse the classifieds. I'm a gun guy looking to find a deal or fill a void.

I actually remember when this site was started. It was a spin off to a thread from the Indycarz forum. It would be interesting to see where I rank as far as length of membership. Obviously, number of posts I'm near the bottom.
