    Not far from the tree
    Depends. . . .

Are we hunting to survive? or hunting for the personal challenge and satisfaction of a hard job, well done?

For survival, a 12 ga and a variety of loads would probably be the most useful choice.
For the satisfaction and challenge variety, grizzly with a slingshot.:D

Just personal preference? Any accurate rifle. I'm partial to squirrels with a rimfire.:twocents:

    You guys crack me up.

I have lots of firearms for different uses, but the most versatile has always been my Mossberg 500 12-gauge with 2 barrels and various loads.

In Indiana I would have to say a .50 BMG for Deer. That way when that big bastard is standing behind a tree I can still get him. :)

I was thinking a heavy free floating barrel.308 with a high power scope. But on second thought I think I would want a light weight ar .223 with 1/7 twist and a scope.:ar15:

    Hmmmm....

Ever since I was told by a FSR (Factory Service Rep) that it was possible for a to acquire and engage a Pheasant, that seems like a lot of fun...
