Hard to choose anything over the couple of Wilson Combats I have, but the Turnbull blued Centennial Edition WC would be a strong contender, as would any 1911 raffle pistol from the Louder Than Words organization of 1911 smiths.

    Yea!
A Colt Gold Cup National Match.

In the mid 80's I saw a pic in a gun mag and I thought it was the
most increadible handgun of all time.

I will have a Colt 1911 enhanced from 1992 soon, cant wait.

Don't have a pic at hand, but of all of the several High Bucks custom 1911s it's been my privilege to be able to fondle and drool over 1st hand, the Signature model from Paul Liebenberg's "Pistol Dynamics" would be my Holy Grail 1911. Ab-so-lute poetry in steel!

Second (and only somewhat less expensive) choice: Les Baer SRP with an ambi thumb safety, tritiums, the optional hard chrome finish and "1.5 in. at 25 yds." guarantee.

But like Grandaddy said: "Wish in one hand, spit in the other and see which one gets full first."
