I have an arsenal AK47 (7.62x39) slr 107cr with the stupid barrel extension and the worthless 25 x 1.5 thread protector on the end.

I would like to have the barrel cut off at the threads, and affix a break/flash hider on the end....

also... break? or hider?.....my first AK 47 build so kinda need some help here

I have talked to the son at scroggins in martinsville, and he will do what ever I want ...I just need some get started advice...thanks my INGO brothers...

It will be an SBR if the barrel plus PERMANENTLY ATTACHED (i.e., welded or silver soldered) flash suppressor or muzzle break measure less than 16 inches from the face of the bolt to the extreme end of the barrel assembly (i.e., a hypothetical 14 inch barrel plus and additional 2 inches of overall length from a hider/brake will be a legal non-SBR weapon). At 15.999999999 or less, hello ATF and tax stamp if you register or ATF and Club Fed if you don't.

depends on what you want. I have mine with a 14/1 LH threads with a YHM QD so i can mount a 308 suppressor. If you don't want to add a suppressor EVER then go with something else. The best after market Ak breaks right now are the PWS and the Battle comp. There are others like the 74 style or beer can that work well too, though both are heaver than the previous but significantly less money.

not mine but the idea is the same. This is a draco SBR

    Gentlemen PULLLEEEEEZE!!!!
It is a muzzle BRAKE , not a break. It is to "brake" the recoil impulse of the weapon. You should know better than to tempt your firearm by calling any part of it a "break"!!!

Oh, and while I'm at it, a large number of recent posters have become fond of substituting "loose" for "lose". Remember, if something becomes loose on your rifle , you may lose it.

    That is all..................

I have a break on my assault rifle too. You'll really notice, after a clip or two, that it does a good job.
