I spent 3 years of my life in Iceland, 89-90 and 96-98. The USAF was funny about sending you to strange places. During the Cold War, Iceland was the real-deal. There were more intercepts of Soviet aircraft in Iceland than anywhere else in the world. Iceland is a member of NATO, but has no military. US forces pulled out in 2006. I had a friend refer to us as the "Icelandic Economic Defense Force". I think they were right.

Like most, I wait until my favorite celebrity tells me who I should vote for. Being rich and famous, they have all the answers.
