I struck gold. What's it worth? Where do I sell it?

You could call your local Police Department and ask them what the process is. In many places you turn it in with a complete description of when and where you found it. If no one claims it after a certain period of time. It's yours.

That's the right thing to do and your conscience will be clear.

    I agree.

Not to thread jack but a lot of you are concerned about his conscience. It is his conscience not yours. I think more details are needed before you all pass any judgement on someones conscience or morals. People use metal detectors all the time for that very purpose. Are they morally obligated to turn in what they find? If he found it in his sofa after company visited or in a public restroom that would be one thing. I know how I would handle similar circumstances but that is me and my conscience would be very clear. I am just rambling now but I do find this interesting.

Do you recon IMPD has this lost and found service?
I can't seem to find a link for any IndyStar lost and found. I am watching Craigs List.

All that being said, I have no problem with my conscience or self respect. I found an unengraved inexpensive wedding band in the parking lot of a moderately priced restaurant.

You asked for opinions so that what i left. I personally would turn it into the restaurant. It may be inexpensive to you but to that couple it may be something special. Just my :twocents:

Sorry, I didn't mean to come off as rude or uncaring. However, to play devil's advocate, it could just as easily belong to a cheating spouse who removed the ring for a date.
