Our society has truly suffered from the lack of family with two parents to actually parent with the discipline necessary.
Sadly by the time most parents these days figure out that they should have taught their kids right and wrong from a very early age, they are often calling the cops to "parent" their incorrigible teenagers.
If kids aren't taught right and wrong at an early age they often take years and years to grow up, if they ever do.
A lot of "parents" these days have never matured themselves.
