    To be clear, she has the strength to pull the trigger - we tried that on Saturday (dry fire). But her hands don't close all the way, so I don't think she can hold on to a .38 during recoil.

    I'll definitely check into the larger grips, as well. ETA: Come to think of it, I have a Hogue grip that came on my own SP101 when I bought it. I'll dig that out and try it.

    .22 revolver. Went down this same road with my grandmother nearly 15 years ago. Don't remember what it was, but it was 8 shots and with .22 JHPs, she could do some damage. The real positive of the .22 was that even if she missed the first shot, the recoil was so low, she could just pull the trigger again.
