    Ok all you 444 Marlin guys. Where can I find a new mold similar to the one above? I would like to stay between 270-300 grains with wheel weight lead, gas checked and round nose.
    I have a 444 inbound and would like to cast for it and my 44. Both are Marlin Microgroove. My 44 mag runs on the big side. I currently run a .430 diameter XTP, it is the only bullet I found that shoots good in it. I know I will need bullets to drop around .434 and size down from there. I will slug the bore on the 444 once I get my hands on it.

    .
    I've shot a fair amount of ammo out of my microgroove Marlins 44 Mag and 444. Tried the Lee 310 grain bullet in the 444 but didn't have much luck, driving it faster with bigger charges of 3031 and 748 made the gun a handful with a scope. Went back to the jacketed Hornady 240 and 265 bullets.

    The 444 is a great tree stand gun, but the light, short rifle can give you a scope cut or shake the fillings out of your teeth. ;)

    It's up there with the Winchester 405.

    I made this ball peen hammer for my Dad in High school shop class in 1974. We got some kind of special tool for cutting the curves but I don’t remember much about it anymore except it took me a long time. It weighs just under 5 pounds not counting the handle.

    That’s all I got.

    Did you ask for that test?
    <snip>
    I ask for a lead test every year when I go in for my annual physical.
    Insurance seems to be covering it...but I would still ask for it even if they did not.

    If you rat for range brass, clean them, reload, cast, etc...you should be doing this.
    (Worth the price of admission to know where you stand.)
