A guy I talk to at the local gun shop asked me if I wanted to shoot his MP-5, and, without hesitation, I said yes. So, he brought it in Friday to let me shoot it. I started out in semi to get the feel of it, then flipped the joy switch down and fired three round bursts. After a mag or two he told me to hold down the trigger and all I can say is, "WOW". I have wanted to fire an MP-5 since I was a kid, and I finally got to.

The funny thing is, I've been talking to my wife about getting one and she always says no. After I shot the first mag, she tapped on the window to the range and motioned no. We came out after a few mags and the owner asked her if she wanted to shoot. She told him no and I put the ear muffs on her ears and told her to get out there and shoot it. She put a couple mags through it and has decided that we NEED one. :):

It's not going to be anytime soon (too many kids in the house to afford one), but I will own an MP-5 someday...

I have been looking at getting a semi auto clone (about the same cost as an AR). You can pick HK 94's for 4000-5000. I have been looking at the Coharie for clones but have heard mixed reviews. Of course these are all semi auto but will take a registered drop in sear.

MP-5 are a lot of fun...

Wait till you scoot up behind a Ma-Deuce though!!!!

Sadly, most folks will never get to experience the power of the .50. My favorite was always the M60, never did get to fire it "rambo style" though, except with blanks:ar15: I hear that the MK9 is a hoot as well but a little after my time. What is you mos jeremy?

    Smitty,
    Which MOS...
    Currently I am slotted as a 63B20H8...
    I have done everything from 11B, 16S, 13M, and 27M...

I do miss the Ol' Pig. Do not miss carrying it however, I weighed in at a buck 20 when I was humping it around. I do not care for the Mk 19 as much as some do. The .50 though, just something about being able to turn light armor to swiss cheese that is just a blast... :D

I imagine you are pretty busy keeping things running over there. That's a hell of a switch from 11boonie to your current mos.

The switch was courtesy of the Army...
    Involuntary Reclassification...

I am over here with the Ag Development Team in Khost Province. And we are busier than a one legged man in an *** kicking contest. 25 Ag Specialists from the State Guard instructing Afghans in Better Ag Techniques. Our AO is about 4X the size of Marion County With 1/8 of the roads and a fraction of the support structure of a county. We are both instructing farmers and agribusiness-men and the Government Officials on how to perform better practices. It is quite similar to beating your head against a wall some days...

So you have to try to get them to change from opium to a grain crop? and then show them how to make it be sustainable? Kinda like pissin in a volcano to put out the fire..good luck over there by the way:patriot:

Sears can currently be obtained for about 11-12K plus a Coharie host another 800-1300 you can have a clone for as low as 12-13K.

There was a HKmp5 on HK pro yesterday with an aftermarket sear for 14k. If it wasnt the middle of winter it would of made me think about it a little closer.
