    And I got through!

Mr. Snerdley asked about my comment for the show.

I told him Rush had just spoken about how the liberal left was in a complete tizzy over the massive increase in gun sales since the shooting at Sandy Hill.
He said they not only could not understand WHY people were buying guns at record rates, and were upset that that many more guns will "be on the streets."

I said I had more of a question. I asked if Rush thought the liberal left would rather have had all of those guns NOT sold in the past few months, then let's find out the impact of all those guns being sold. I want to know, if NO guns were sold in the past 3-4 months, how much money would that be out of the monthly retail sales nationally?
Would that be enough to drag this "slowly but steadily growing" economy back into recession numbers?

Another question I had for him was, If you shut down gun manufacturers, or even severely curtail sales, how many manufacturing jobs will be lost? With no gun sales, who's going to buy ammo? No ammo sales means more manufacturing jobs lost. All of these lost manufacturing jobs equate to lost retail jobs.

Mr. President, do you really want to go there?

Mr. Snerdley told me that they would need actual numbers to intelligently talk about this on the show, but he thought the questions were intriguing, and said he would pass the idea along to Rush.

If you here Rush talking about monthly retail sales MINUS gun sales, chances are good a fellow Ingo'er put the bug in his ear. :D

I may not be a huge fan of Rush, but if all gun owners took it upon themselves to call or write to someone, we would make a big impact. Nice work!

I am a huge fan of Rush! I never call because I only listen to the podcast, so I'm always a day behind. I should though. It'd be like a bucket list achievement if I even got to chat with Snerdly.

BTW, the tea really is good!

That's cool! Was it the big deal that Rush says it was?

It was. I lived in Fort Collins at the time. No one knew locally if it was going to be a big deal or not? The evening before I went to Old Town and there were college guys selling t-shirts and a lot of people were arriving from out of town. I had a lot of nice conversations with good people, a lot of small business owners, who just on a whim got in the cars and drove there.

The next day, local businesses had stands, selling food or other goods. Everyone was super nice, friendly, happy loving Americans like it was the 4th of July. No one was mean or protesting anything. Just having a good time.

About Noon, the local police escorted Rush to a small stage where he made a speech and Dan paid him for his subscription (I was about teen feet away). There were lines and lines of cars coming into that part of town as I later left.

I recall listening to the local media dogging the event. They actually interviewed some loser punk kids that were there to protest Rush (probably didn't even know who he was!). Later, I read how the city noted that at how well behaved such a large group of people they were.

Too bad you didn't get to talk with the man himself. I try to listen to him every day during my lunch break. Some days he can get on my nerves, but more often than not he has a lot of truth mixed in with the BS and cxxp.

Not only the manufacturing side of it, look at all the business out there just to support the gun manufacturers, and the ammo manufacturers, just making sure they have there parts.

Rush tends to call whoever his screener is Snerdly, even if it isn't Snerdly.

Arguably, the only improvement the President has made to the economy since taking office is in the firearms and training industry.

Yes! People drove from all over the USA to be there. Ft. Collins or Bust.

You should see the aerial pictures!!! I had some back in the day when I subscribed to his newsletter. I'm sure there are some online. Watch this video. You'll see part of it.

There were probably 75,000 people or more there. There were 30,000 cars in the stadium parking alone. There was a 25 mile traffic jam on the interstate to get there, and a 7 mile long bus caravan.
