You can also buy these giant heavy duty trash bags. I stuffed a 4 pointer into one a couple of weeks ago. I'd guess 130-140lb. He mostly fit. ;-)

It contained the blood and hair, so it worked.

I'm in the same boat and was planning on just roping a deer to the top of the trunk if I'm fortunate enough to get one. I know it'd look redneck as could be, but I can't justify buying a truck just to transport a deer I may or may not shoot. I also can't really see me getting a deer wrapped up in a tarp and into the truck of my little chevy without spilling some blood & guts some where in the back. I'd rather just have to hose off the lid of the trunk and look like a redneck.

It wouldn't look as redneck as someone I knew that stuffed his deer in the backseat of a convertible Cavalier for a few seasons. Top down, buckled in. He was a bit of an idiot but was always good for some laughs.

I retrieved a deer many moons ago in a hilly woods, with a Chevette. 'Bout blew the glass out crossing a washout. It made it, and up a steep hill, but man I was standin' on it.
Had it on video, lost it in a move :(

Hunted and fished for many years with a Jetta. The back seats fold down and access the trunk. Can hold lots of stuff including two deer with the trunk lid open. I also had roof racks so I could carry outside the car.

Other than the cost of parts the Jetta is a great hunting ride. Limmited in off road action but good on gas and the front seats fold down so I could even sleep in it.

Be creative and use what is available.

I have a 1993 chevy z71 as a hunting truck now but if I had a jetta there would be times I would still take it over the truck. Not many but anything long distance with gas as expensive as it is.

They go in a trunk easy. Sometimes, they are a little hard to get out.

I stopped laughing long enough to see the 2x10's? under the elk holding up it's back end before I busted out uncontrollably again.

On a more serious note, this has given me the inspiration to have the rack of my target buck sticking out of the sunroof while bringing it home if I am so fortunate this year.

Drove from Greene county, to Indy more than once with a deer strapped to the top of my old Jeep Cherokee Sport. Lots of one finger salutes in the Bloomington area, but thats ok. Now we have a truck, so no more 'showing off'.
