I haven’t read every post in this thread yet, but I gotta think I’m in the running for the crown. I have shaved ONE TIME since 1975!! That was when our daughter was about two, I walked out of the bathroom and she started crying. Around 1981, didn’t like what I saw and never shaved again. I do shave my neck and beard is always trimmed and no more than an inch.
I’ve said to a few young guys with beards and man buns that I’ve had a beard longer than you’ve been alive, but only if it comes up in the conversation. I don’t feel like I have any chin, so I guess that’s kinda why I started growing a beard. It’s pretty grey and I’m not bald, but might as well be.
I've always been beardless. Did have a moustache from about age 20 to age 42 or so. Shave it off for Halloween one year (clown makeup) and never tried growing it back. It was just one more thing I had to maintain. I haven't missed it.
Let me guess. You really don't care for bacon too?
In my 57 years I've rarely had facial hair. There was a short time in 2008 - 2010 I had a goatee. That didn't last. I didn't care for it.
The day my manager called me and instructed me to work from home until further notice, March 15, 2020, I stopped shaving.
So now, I have a modest beard. Mostly white with some patches of red (I'm of Scottish descent, thanks). And I really don't notice it unless I'm in front of a mirror. Strangely, the OG likes it a lot and says it adds to my "you really won't fare well if you try to f**k with me demeanor". Ok, works for me, I'll wear the beard. I don't have it in me to go for the ZZ Top look (I'm a Boomer, all you Millennials will just have to search on it), so it gets trimmed every week or so.
But I will give it to the tanker and marine, those are epic.
P.S. KokomoDave: Looking good man!
