One thing to consider when looking at todays prices is the US dollar has lost its value significantly. Thats a big reason why everything from guns to gas to food costs more today.

I wasnt too young in 94 but we did have a record amount of gun sales last month by a significant amount. It seems to me that people are more concerned this time about the ban. People in general are buying more guns now even before the talk of a ban.

Part of the reason, as you visited in another post, is that at least some people have become disabused of the notion that 'This is America--that can't happen here'. In 1994 before the ban passed, even with the memory of Ruby Ridge and Waco fresh in their minds, most people would have told you that you needed to exchange your tin foil hat and wear an aluminum Dutch oven over your head if you honestly believed they would ban your guns. We see how that worked out, and as addressed upthread, we now know from experience that it can be done and will be if we aren't vigilant.

I was just barely old enough to buy anything in the 94 ban.

My question is, how long from when the 94 AWB passed and was signed into law, was it before it actually took effect? IE say it was signed January 1st, did it take effect Jan 1, or did it wait till July 1?
