The cheapest I have seen is CZ in .380 or 9mm for around $179. I do not own one and am not sure how reliable they are.

I guess it depends on your definition of "cost". Regardless of how many dollars you spend on gun, having one which doesn't work every time could "cost" you your life.:(

Highpoint Cheap? I'll put my Highpoint up to any other. It shoot's flawless. I did a torture test last year on it. 1220 45 rounds down the pipe with-in an hour and it just wanted more. It got hot, but it was a real test of it's ability. My son now has it in the pick up out west on a large range. He says they have fired it at least another 1,000 rounds. I paid $169 and I feel there Highpoint pistols and rifles are a well kept secrets. Other firearms out there are "cheap" but the Highpoint will be shooting long after a lot of the others. UGLY??? That they are!! Heavy, that they are!! But they keep asking for more. My friend bought the 380 and uses it at bowling pin shoots. $128, and it is fired all the time. He claims 2700 rounds fired from it. UGLY, Heavy, but not cheap.. Liberator pistols sell for about $600 to $800, wish I had about 3 or 4 of em..............

I think you got me wrong one the meaning of the word "cheap".
By "cheap" I mean low price, not poor quality. Some things that are high value can be cheap and good quality.
$128 for a .380 pistol IS cheap when you see other models for $500, $800 or more.
