I hope they had a parachute and could just jump at the end. That would suck to climb all the way back down again

Just FYI, free-climbing is not permitted under OSHA regulations and those guys are breaking rules and filming it at the same time...

So he lied? Because he said OSHA permits it in the video.

Man, I'm still cringing just thinking about that video.

Actually, I just checked and guy #2's face is blurred out, so that would make sense.

There is another thread lurking around here with this video being discussed.

I believe my response to that one was a big F no.

    Allow me to reiterate.

    F - NO!
    No Way!
    No How!

Makes my stomach do funny things while watching - those guys must shoot up pure adrenaline all the time or something and need that to feel normal.

That's over 1/3 of a mile up btw.

Yup, you figured it out too!

If you listen to it (although it may be untrue) they say OSHA regulations look past using harnesses due to time restraints.
There is a big discussion about this video on another site. An individual from that profession weighed in on the fact that there aren't any exception to the free-climbing rules. And as noted above, why blur out the 2nd guys face unless you want to remain anonymous for some reason?

What could they possibly do to please OSHA? Clamp off on every single rung?

Fun fact: It would take a little more than 10 seconds to fall back to the ground from the top.

These guys seem to be experienced in free-climbing and to them it is nothing more than tieing your shoes in the morning. As for blurring out the other guys face, maybe he didn't want his face all over the internet? I for one hate getting my picture taken let alone have a video of me posted for all to see. I would blur out my face as well.
