Right now my "wants" are a Savage 10 in 338 Lapua Magnum. And more realistically a Ruger 77/44 has had me thinking. And 1 of everything else when I walk into the gun shop.

i second this! well...the 77/44 part at least lol...and a Savage bolt gun in .223, also want a PSA 16" patrol carbine, and a Ruger SR556 lol and a CZ USA P07 Duty. thats all for now...

My wants change every time I see something cool, but luckily for me my wants list is pretty cheap (in comparison to most others).

(in order of importance starting with most important)

-Reliable affordable AR-Upper to match the lower I will be building this weekend.
-.22 conversion kit or dedicated upper so I can practice without breaking the bank...

-HD shotgun... I think the KSG is supercool, but obviously hard to find and expensive as hell right now (and obviously untested). I would probably settle for Mossberg or Remington HD version or maybe even a Winchester SPX defender... used or new wouldn't matter, but I'm in no rush to purchase one of these and will wait out to see what direction the KSG ends up going in.

-MarkIII competition or target for something fun and accurate to plink at the range with

-Eventually would like some kind of badass supressed snipered out rifle just for the fun of it. Maybe something in a .308 although somebody just posted a pic of his murdered out suppressed 10/22 and I got all warm and fuzzy thinking about how fun that thing would be.

I should be able to get the AR upper and conversion kit (if I decide not to just buy a .22 dedicated upper instead of a conversion kit) within a month or so....

Being that I'm new to this whole gun world, the rest can wait and will likely change as I find new and interesting things to want.

Who knows, maybe Ill sell my Wifes Ninja 250 motorcycle this spring and do some shopping

I would think long and hard about that AK assertion... I'm pretty much an expert in my own rights with Eastern bloc military hardware, and you really don't want alot of AK models floating around. If I may offer a small bit of advice, I would look for these:

1.) Polytech AKM's are the best... they are pre-ban AK'sthat were made in China under the supervision of Soviet specialists... it's the best AKM that you can ever hope to have in the U.S. (Very, very rare rifle though here) ...You're looking at between $1,000-1,700 for one of these but well worth the money, if you got it.

2.) M70B1 (if you can find one these days) is the second best type of AKM you can buy, behind Polytech. Yugo AK's were also manufactured with the help of Soviet specialists, and with very strict quality controls. These run around $600-800 bucks. But again, second best AK you can get.

3.) Tula Arsenal AKM... Made from Bulgarian and Russian parts, super strong reciever, and all the trimmings. Looking at about $600~ for one of these.

4.) WASR-10/63, but inspect it well before purchase. These are good running rifles now that Century got it's **** together, but can very in quality from place to place... these are basic and round about $450 bucks.
