I was just wondering how you guys shoot standing up? elbow tucked in or out and up "chickenwinged". I find on a ar platform it's alot easier to keep my right elbow tucked in but on something non pistol gripped like a shot gun or even my .22 for plinking i tend to keep my elbow up and out.

What kind of shooting are you doing? Often, the type of shooting will dictate technique. A world-class skeet shooter will use a different set of techniques than a 50ft small-bore rifle competitor, which will be different than a guy stomping in your door with a shotty.

That being said, I typically keep my elbows in when shooting.

Depends on what I'm shooting and whether I'm shooting standing un-supported, sitting un-supported or using support in either position.

It's more of what type of gun than what type of shooting for me. Like I said when using a shotgun either hunting or skeet I have my elbow out but when I grab my ar I tuck the elbow in. With the elbow up it seems as there is more of a pocket for the butt of the gun to sit in and absorbs more recoil on larger calibers.

I shoot fast and accurately. Thats how I envision it at least...

I shoot with my elbows slightly out, but it is a little less pronounced with a shotgun
