    I have one center fire rifle that will do sub MOA groups and it is a bolt action 222 rem. Basic factory rifle so I feel extremely lucky.

    Bench rest style firearms are specialty items and you will sacrifice some functionality and reliability to make that happen. 1/2'moA is benchrest to me.

    It depends... on the Internet or at the range? Them seem to be more common on the Internet than they are at the range.

    It sound like you have a good rifle, but I agree that you should just shoot it rather than try to save the barrel.
